Masters of the Wind – The Indian Yellow-nosed Albatross
On windy days, look out over the ocean and you may spot an Indian Yellow-nosed Albatross. These remarkable seabirds spend most of their lives at sea and can travel thousands of kilometres without flapping their wings. Watch carefully as they use a flight technique called dynamic soaring, repeatedly climbing into the wind and then gliding downwind to gain speed while using almost no energy.
