Fern Cottage

Fern Cottage is a self-catering unit ideal for couples who are looking for a quiet getaway. The cottage is situated in a tranquil area of Kei Mouth, just 320m from the main swimming beach and surrounded by bushveld. The outside braai area is secluded with moveable braai and a weber if required. The cottage offers Netflix and free Wi-Fi connectivity with excellent 3G connectivity. Solar installed January 2023.

The unit comprises of a large room with a double bed and a comfortable lounge area adjacent. Bathroom has a shower with a gas geyser. There is a fully equipped kitchen for your self-catering purposes, also with gas cooking. Should Eskom be playing up – at least you can cook and shower. Linen, blankets, hand soap and toilet paper is supplied, as well as an information booklet giving on activities, restaurant, etc. Please bring your own towels for beach use.

The private braai area overlooks the bush-veld where you will see abundant bird life, buck and cows grazing. Safe and secure parking provided for your peace of mind.

Guests will find the location ideal as a vacation site as it is extremely quiet. Take walks on the beach which is suitable for swimming or the lagoon at Morgan Bay. There are various walks and trails to explore, various fishing options and for the more energetic, there is horse riding, abseiling, hiking, mountain bike trails or relax at one of the great restaurants close by.

Beach: Fern Cottage is 320m to the beach and a short walk to Kei River Mouth. Walk along the coastline towards the light-house, or take the Pont and walk over into Transkei where a day can be spent on the ‘wild-side’.

Golf: 13 Hole Golf Course with Country Club and Restaurant on your doorstep. Stunning sea views, well maintained country course.

Horse riding: various rides for beginners up to day rides for experienced riders.

Romantic: Cottage ideal for a couple wanting a quiet/romantic weekend away from city life. Lie in bed and listen to the waves breaking on the rocks in the distance. Lots of bird-life, monkeys and the occasional cow or bush buck wander through the gardens.
