Kei Mouth Tourism

There are many trails and walks around the Kei Mouth / Morgan Bay area. These vary in difficulty and length. Kei Mouth Owners’ and Residents’ Association (KMORA) and Morgan Bay Ratepayers’ Association (MBRA) have embarked on a project to mark as many as possible and to add information about the length, level of difficulty and what to see along the way. This is an evolving project.

Collect stamps in the Kei Country Walks Passport

Walkers may purchase a passport from the Kei Mouth Savemor, Morgan Bay Hotel, Oystercatcher or The Yard at a cost of R20. Each trail is home to a post box which contains a unique stamp and an inkpad.  Walkers may stamp their passport with the goal of collecting all the stamps and becoming a Kei Country Master.

At the beginning of each walk is a sign that gives directions and information about the walk. Along the way, walkers will find posts with a QR code. Each QR code links to more information about points and items of interest along the way. There is also a downloadable document for each walk with more details.

Once a walker has ten different stamps in the passport, he or she may claim a reward of a free coffee or cool drink at one of several outlets. This is redeemable by presenting the passport.

Should a stamp at a post box not be available or working for some reason, there are spare stamps at the passport sales outlets. Just take a selfie next to the post box and show it to the staff at the counter.

Kei Country Walks is a work-in-progress and more walks are being added all the time. Please keep checking here for updates.
